New Zealand Domestic Travel
Travel continues to be challenging. If your plans change, you can opt-in for credit for your flights.
Travelling safely during COVID-19
Auckland is now at Alert Level 3 and the rest of New Zealand is at Alert Level 2. Here's everything you need to know about domestic travel during Alert Levels 2 and 3.
For information about the Alert System please visit the NZ Govt site.

Physical distancing at the airport and on board
Physical distancing is required at the airport and while boarding at Alert Levels 2 and 3. Where possible we will allocate additional space to support physical distancing on board. We recommend checking-in online or via the Air NZ mobile app before heading to the airport.

Wearing face coverings
All passengers are required to wear a face-covering in the airport and on all Air New Zealand operated flights. Passengers are welcome to wear their own face-covering and we will continue to make masks available. Please check the government website before you travel to make sure your face covering is fit for purpose.

Cleanliness in the air and on the ground
We are taking extra steps to ensure all our aircraft, lounges, and airports are frequently cleaned. We are regularly cleaning our aircraft with antiviral products, approved for use by aircraft manufacturers and by the World Health Organisation. Hand sanitiser is readily available on board all aircraft for customer and crew use. Face masks are also available on board for those who do not have one.

Lounges & Valet
Auckland Domestic and Regional lounges are closed at Alert Level 3.
Capacity at all other New Zealand lounges is limited to 100 people. Physical distancing is required and there will be changes to the self-service buffet in accordance with government regulations.
Auckland Valet is open for customers to pick up cars only at Alert Level 3.
Wellington and Christchurch Valet remain open at Alert Level 2 with physical distancing and extra hygiene measures in place.
