Air New Zealand's lounge development programme

  • The Air New Zealand Auckland Domestic Lounge is undergoing a refurbishment from 6 January 2020, see below for details
  • The significantly renovated Air New Zealand Domestic Lounge at Wellington Airport opened in December 2019.

Auckland Domestic Lounge

The Air New Zealand Auckland Domestic Lounge is currently undergoing a staged refurbishment with work started in early January 2020.

Stage one of the renovations has now been completed and sees a refreshed barista coffee and bar area, bathrooms and the lounge space behind this.

Stage two of the construction has commenced and is focusing on upgrading the business zone, buffet and café areas and second block of bathrooms.

During this time the menu offering is simplified with self-serve drinks, barista made coffee and bar facilities available. This lounge is still operating at a reduced capacity and at peak times guest access will be restricted.

With the larger Air New Zealand Auckland Regional lounge now open, members have the option to access this lounge instead, whilst the staged construction is underway. Members should ensure they allow enough time to proceed through Aviation Security Screening to get through to their boarding gates.

When the refurbishments are complete later in 2020, the lounge will remain in the same location, offer 10% more seating than before and feature the signature modern Air New Zealand lounge design.
