NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
MUST BE A LEGAL RESIDENT OF CANADA, AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE, AND POSSESS A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE (OR TRAVEL WITH A GUEST WHO HAS A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AND IS AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE) TO PARTICIPATE.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS SUBJECT TO BINDING ARBITRATION AND A WAIVER OF CLASS ACTION RIGHTS (SEE SECTION 12). IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE RULES YOU MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE SWEEPSTAKES.
THE SPONSOR OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS AIR NEW ZEALAND LIMITED ("Sponsor") located at 222 N Pacific Coast Highway Suite 1550, El Segundo, CA 90245.
1. SWEEPSTAKES: The Amazing Race Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") will begin on September 30, 2026, at approximately 6:00 a.m. Pacific Time ("PT") and ends on October 21, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PT (the "Promotion Period"). Sponsor's clock is the official timekeeping device for the Sweepstakes.
2. ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes is open only to individuals who, at the time of entry into the Sweepstakes:
(i) are a legal resident of Canada, excluding Quebec;
(ii) at least 21 years of age; and
(iii) have a valid unencumbered driver's license.
Employees, owners, shareholders, officers, or directors (and their respective Immediate Family Members and Household Members) of Sponsor, Worldrace Productions, Inc, ChristchurchNZ Limited (collectively, the "Sweepstakes Entities") and each of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, are not eligible to participate in this Sweepstakes. "Immediate Family Members" means parents, stepparents, legal guardians, children, stepchildren, siblings, stepsiblings or spouses, regardless of where they live. "Household Members" means those people who share the same residence at least three months a year whether or not related.
3. HOW TO ENTER: To enter the Sweepstakes, visit the Sweepstakes website at https://airnewzealand.ca/nz-sweeps during the Promotion Period, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the entry form (the "Entry Form") and click the "Submit" button.
To complete the Entry Form, you will need to: (i) enter your first name, last name and valid email address; (ii) indicate that you are over the age of 21, a legal resident of Canada (excluding Quebec), and possess a valid unencumbered driver's license; and (iii) signify that you have read and agree to be legally bound by these Official Sweepstakes Rules (these "Official Rules").
Upon Sponsor's receipt of a completed Entry Form submitted in compliance with these Official Rules, each of the individuals who have submitted an Entry Form will be deemed an entrant (the "Entrant" and collectively, the "Entrants") and will receive one (1) entry (the "Entry" and collectively, the "Entries") into the Sweepstakes.
There is a limit of one (1) Entry per person and email address into the Sweepstakes. A person may only use one email address to enter. An email address cannot be used by more than one person to enter into the Sweepstakes. Any attempt by any person to obtain more than one (1) Entry by using multiple different email addresses, identities or any other methods may result in the voiding of all Entries submitted by that person and disqualification of that person at Sponsor's sole discretion. Automated Entries are prohibited and will result in disqualification if detected. Standard internet access and usage charges may apply; if entering via a mobile device standard data and message rates may apply.
In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of an Entrant, the Entry will be deemed submitted by the Authorized Account Holder of the email address associated with the Entry. "Authorized Account Holder" is defined as the person assigned to an email address by an internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses. Proof of sending or submitting an Entry will not be deemed proof of receipt by Sponsor. Receipt of an Entry will not be acknowledged. All of the Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.
By entering the Sweepstakes, each Entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Each Entrant also acknowledges and agrees to the Sponsor Conditions of Carriage and Privacy Policy incorporated herein by reference. In the event of a conflict between these Official Rules and Sponsor's Terms of Use or Privacy Policy, the terms of these Official Rules shall govern the Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any person that Sponsor determines in its sole discretion to be in violation of any term contained in these Official Rules. Sponsor's decision not to enforce a specific provision of these Official Rules does not constitute a waiver of that provision or of these Official Rules generally.
4. GRAND PRIZE AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE:
One (1) Grand Prize (the "Grand Prize") is available to be awarded.
The Grand Prize consists of a seven (7) day, six (6) night trip (the "Trip") for the winner ("Winner") and one (1) eligible guest ("Guest") from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to Christchurch, New Zealand. Guest must meet the eligibility requirements in Section 2 of these Official Rules.
The Trip will consist of the following:
Flights: Roundtrip air transportation for two (2) people from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to Christchurch, New Zealand, including one (1) roundtrip Air New Zealand Business Premier flight from Vancouver to Auckland, New Zealand and one (1) roundtrip Air New Zealand Economy flight from Auckland to Christchurch. If Winner does not reside near Vancouver, Winner will need to make their own transport arrangements to get to Vancouver.
Winner is solely responsible for transportation and related costs for Winner and Guest to travel to and from the Domestic Airport including, without limitation, ground transportation, parking, and any other incidentals.
Transfers and transport: Airport transfers provided between Christchurch Airport and designated hotel accommodations. Three-day car rental provided between Christchurch and Kaikōura with Touchdown Car Rentals (provided Winner or Guest is at least 21 years of age with a valid unencumbered driver's license), and return TranzAlpine Scenic Plus train tickets from Christchurch to Arthur's Pass.
Accommodation: Three (3) nights at Sudima Christchurch City Hotel including breakfast; one (1) night at Flockhill Lodge including dinner, breakfast and signature Farm Tour experience; and two (2) nights at Hapuku Lodge & Treehouses. Each accommodation is valid for a consecutive stay, subject to availability and their standard terms and conditions.
Activities: Christchurch Attractions Botanic Gardens Tour (operates daily October-April, and Thursday-Sunday from May-September) and Christchurch Tram Tour, Amiki Kai Bites food walking tour, Waka On Avon Mahika Kai Tour, lunch at C1 Espresso Café, Alpine Jet Thrills Jetboat Canyon Safari, Dolphin Encounter Dolphin Swim or Watching, Kaikoura EcoZipExperience, and Kaikōura 3-day car rental (provided Winner or Guest is at least 21 years of age with a valid unencumbered driver's license).
The Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") of the Grand Prize is CAD $40,000. Actual retail value of the Grand Prize may vary based upon the location of the Domestic Airport, date of booking, any airfare fluctuations and seasonal pricing. If the actual value of the Grand Prize is less than the ARV stated, Winner will not be entitled to any payment for the price difference. Winner is solely responsible for any applicable taxes, duties or other charges associated with the Prize.
All Grand Prize bookings (flight, hotel, transfer, car rental and experiences) are subject to availability at the time of booking, itinerary changes and other restrictions. Travel blackout dates apply, and the Trip cannot be taken between December 1, 2026 – January 31, 2027, and May 23, 2027 - July 2, 2027 ("Blackout Period").
Winner is solely responsible for any and all costs or expenses associated with acceptance and/or use of the Grand Prize (other than those specifically stated as included in the Trip) including, without limitation, all necessary travel documents, ground transportation to and from the Domestic Airport, hotel accommodations and activities (other than those provided by Sponsor), meals, parking, excess baggage fees, travel protection insurance and other expenses not specifically stated as included in the Trip. Other hotel fees are not included and, if applicable, will be paid by Winner at the time of check-out.
Winner and Guest must travel on the same itinerary. All Grand Prize details are at the sole discretion of Sponsor; provided Winner shall select the Trip travel dates subject to availability and Blackout Periods.
All components of the Grand Prize are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, cannot be redeemed for cash, and cannot be resold or used in conjunction with any other offers. For bookings where vouchers are provided, the full value of voucher must be used in a single transaction. Any remaining credit will not be refunded, exchanged or transferred. Once the Trip dates are confirmed, cancellations within thirty (30) days of arrival or failure to arrive will result in the Grand Prize being forfeited. Any additional meals, beverages, activities, transfers or incidental expenses not specifically included in the Grand Prize are at Winner's own cost.
The Trip must be booked directly through Sponsor or an agent authorized by Sponsor. The Grand Prize may not be combined with any other offer and the awarded air travel and/or hotel may not qualify for frequent flier miles, award points or other benefits. An email will be sent to Winner with instructions for how to book the Trip. All travel must be booked by January 28, 2027 and completed by August 31, 2027.
If Winner does not possess a valid driver's license, Winner must be accompanied by a Guest who is at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license.
Winner and Guest must complete all documentation required by Sponsor prior to ticketing. Airline carriers' regulations and conditions apply (see: Legal Terms and Conditions | Air New Zealand). Once the Trip dates have been booked, no changes (including name changes), extensions or substitutions are permitted except at Sponsor's sole discretion. If Winner elects to travel without a Guest, no additional compensation will be awarded to Winner. Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen tickets or travel vouchers. Once travel for the Trip commences, no unscheduled stopovers are permitted. If Winner initiates an unscheduled stopover during the Trip, Winner will be charged full airfare from the stopover point for the remaining segments of the Trip, including the return flights. Any hotel cancellations or changes to hotel reservations after confirmation must be made with Sponsor directly and Winner is solely responsible for any charges or fees arising from such changes. Sponsor is not responsible if Winner and/or Guest are denied access to any aircraft or hotel due to the conduct of Winner or Guest. In such event, Winner and/or Guest will be solely responsible for any expenses incurred and the Grand Prize may be forfeited in whole or in part at the discretion of Sponsor. Winner and Guest must comply with all hotel check-in requirements including, without limitation, all incidental charges, any deposits, and/or credit card deposits required for incidentals. Airline tickets are subject to the rules and regulations of each domestic carrier and/or Air New Zealand. Released Parties (as defined below) are not liable for any expenses incurred due to flight cancellations and/or delays.
Winner and Guest must have, and are solely responsible for paying all costs and fees associated with obtaining, all necessary identification and/or travel documents required by the New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA); including a valid passport with an expiration date greater than six (6) months from each traveler's return flight to Canada. The airline carrier, destination and/or hotel venue may require negative COVID-19 tests results or valid vaccination documentation, and any such requirements may be subject to change. A valid passport and credit card or cash deposit may be required at hotel check-in for incidental charges.
Airport, airline and hotel policies, and the recommendations of health officials must be followed. In addition, Winner and Guest should be aware of and comply with government guidelines regarding travel restrictions and mandatory quarantines before visiting any destination. Winner and Guest acknowledge that any public location where people are present provides an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other illnesses and Sponsor cannot guarantee that any person will not be exposed during the Trip. By accepting the Grand Prize, Winner and Guest expressly assume the risk that during the Trip they may be exposed to COVID-19 or other communicable or infectious diseases, viruses or illnesses. Winner and Guest expressly understand that these risks include contracting COVID-19 or other communicable and/or infectious diseases, viruses or illnesses and the associated dangers, medical complications and physical and mental injuries, both foreseen and unforeseen, that may result. Winner and Guest irrevocably waive all claims against Released Parties (as defined below) and agree that the Released Parties will have no liability or responsibility and shall be held harmless by Winner and Guest for any claim arising in connection with a potentially heightened risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other communicable or infectious diseases, viruses or illnesses arising as a result of travel related activities wherever, whenever or however they may occur.
No assignment, transfer, conversion to cash or cash redemption, or substitution of any portion of the Grand Prize, is permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Grand Prize, or any of its components, with a prize of comparable or greater value should the Grand Prize, or any of its components, become unavailable or for any other reason needs to be exchanged. The Grand Prize is solely for personal use and may not be used in conjunction with any other promotion.
5. GRAND PRIZE DRAW AND ODDS OF WINNING
One (1) Entrant will be selected in a random drawing (the "Drawing") on or about October 30, 2026, from among all eligible Entries received during the Promotion Period. The Drawing will be conducted by Sponsor or its designee, whose decision on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes shall be final and binding in all respects. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible Entries received during the Promotion Period. The selected winner will be required to answer a question correctly about New Zealand (the "Skill-Testing Question")to claim the prize.
6. WINNER NOTIFICATION AND PRIZE CLAIM
The selected Entrant is subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. The selected Entrant will be notified on or about October 30, 2026 by email to the address provided on their Entry Form. The email notification will include an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release and, where legally permissible, a Publicity Release (the "Prize Claim Documents"). In order to be verified as Winner, the selected Entrant must:
(i) respond to the email notification and complete, execute and return the Prize Claim Documents within seventy-two (72) hours of the time and date notice or attempted notice is sent;
(ii) correctly answer a time-limited Skill-Testing Question; and
(iii) sign a form of acknowledgement and consent.
If a selected Entrant is found to be ineligible, fails to provide the required documentation within the stated time, answers the Skill-Testing Question incorrectly, or if the email notification is returned as undeliverable, the Grand Prize will be automatically forfeited and Sponsor may select an alternate Entrant by random drawing from among the remaining eligible Entries. Up to two (2) alternate Entrants may be selected after which the Grand Prize will remain unawarded.
7. PUBLICITY
As a condition of accepting the Grand Prize, Winner and Guest agree to participate in and cooperate with reasonable promotional and content capture activities during the Trip which may include photography and video recording conducted by a Sponsor designated content creator. Such content may be used by Sponsor and its designees for promotional and marketing purposes in any media worldwide in perpetuity without additional notice or compensation unless prohibited by law. Winner and Guest agree to execute such releases, waivers and other documents as Sponsor may reasonably require to effectuate the foregoing.
8. IMPROPER CONDUCT
Sponsor may disqualify any Entrant from participation in the Sweepstakes, and/or refuse to award any component of the Grand Prize if an Entrant, Winner or Guest engages in any conduct that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, deems to be improper, unfair or otherwise adverse to the operation of the Sweepstakes or detrimental to the Sweepstakes, Sponsors, and/or any participating Grand Prize entity. Such improper conduct includes, without limitation, falsifying personal information required on the Entry Form or during Grand Prize claim, violating any term or condition stated herein, accumulating entries through methods such as automated computer scripts or any other programming techniques, allowing others to use Entrant's personal information for the purpose of accumulating entries, or intentionally trying to defraud, reverse engineer, disassemble or otherwise tamper with the computer programs in connection with this Sweepstakes, and/or violating any term or condition of any airline, hotel or Grand Prize entity. Winner agrees that Sponsor may void the Grand Prize or any part of the Grand Prize that Winner may have won and/or require the return of the Grand Prize or any part of the Grand Prize that Winner may have won as a result of such improper conduct by Winner or Guest. Winner further acknowledges that any forfeiture of the Grand Prize and/or return of the Grand Prize shall in no way prevent Sponsor from pursuing other avenues of recourse, such as criminal or civil proceedings in connection with such conduct. WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE SWEEPSTAKES. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, EACH OF THE SWEEPSTAKES ENTITIES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING LEGAL FEES) FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR SUCH ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
9. INTEGRITY OF THE SWEEPSTAKES
If, for any reason, the Sponsor is not capable of running the Sweepstakes as planned, including but not limited to by reason of infection by computer virus, worms, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical, human or other failures or errors, or any event or cause beyond Sponsor's control, which Sponsor, in its sole discretion believes could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Sweepstakes and select an Entrant in a random drawing from among all remaining eligible non-suspect Entries received prior to the action taken or in such other manner as Sponsor may deem fair and appropriate.
10. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION/RELEASE
Sponsor in its sole discretion may designate an administrator to handle Winner selection and notification on Sponsor's behalf. All federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations apply. By participating, each Entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor which shall be final and binding in all respects. By participating and/or accepting the Grand Prize, each Entrant agrees to release the Sweepstakes Entities, and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising and/or promotion agencies and prize suppliers and each such company's officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents (collectively the "Released Parties") from any and all actions, claims, liabilities, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner directly or indirectly from participation in this Sweepstakes, including any activity related to the Sweepstakes and/or acceptance or use of the Grand Prize, including but not limited to any travel or activities related to the Grand Prize. The Released Parties shall not be liable for: (i) any injuries, losses, liabilities or damages of any kind, including personal injury or death, caused by the Grand Prize or resulting from acceptance, possession or use of the Grand Prize; (ii) telephone system, telephone or computer hardware, software or other technical or computer malfunctions, lost connections, disconnections, delays or transmission errors; (iii) data corruption, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of the Entries or other materials; (iv) late, lost, delayed, stolen, misdirected, incomplete, unreadable, inaccurate, garbled or unintelligible Entries, communications, or affidavits, regardless of the method of transmission; (v) any inability of Winner to accept or use the Grand Prize or portion thereof and the resulting forfeit of such Grand Prize or portion thereof; (vi) any printing, typographical, human, administrative, technological or other errors in the administration or conduct of the Sweepstakes and/or in any materials or activities associated with the Sweepstakes including, without limitation, in any related advertising or promotion of this Sweepstakes and/or in these Official Rules. In the event of any ambiguities or errors in these Official Rules, Sponsor reserves the right to modify these Official Rules for clarification purposes or to correct such ambiguities or errors.
Sponsor is not responsible if the Sweepstakes cannot take place or be conducted as planned, or if any component of the Grand Prize cannot be awarded due to travel cancellations, delays or interruptions due to acts of God, acts of war, acts of government or civil authority, natural disasters, weather, epidemics or pandemics, or acts of terrorism or any other event outside of Sponsor's control. Released Parties disclaim any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participating in or accessing or downloading information in connection with Sweepstakes.
11. INDEMNITY
Each Entrant in this Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, Winner, hereby releases and agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all claims, damages, actions, liability, loss, injury or expense including reasonable legal fees and costs arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the Sweepstakes, participation in any activity related to the Sweepstakes, and/or acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any component of the Grand Prize including without limitation, personal injury, death and property damage arising therefrom.
12. CLASS ACTION WAIVER/ARBITRATION PROVISION/LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES, THE ENTRANT AGREES THAT THE SWEEPSTAKES IS SUBJECT TO BINDING ARBITRATION, A WAIVER OF CLASS ACTION RIGHTS AND A LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE RULES YOU MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE SWEEPSTAKES.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Released Parties shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising from or relating to the Sweepstakes, participation in the Sweepstakes, or the Grand Prize. The Released Parties' aggregate liability shall not exceed the ARV of the Grand Prize.
Any dispute arising from or in connection with the Sweepstakes or these Official Rules shall be settled by final and binding arbitration conducted before a single arbitrator in accordance with the rules of the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre. The venue of the arbitration shall be Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Each claimant agrees to bring claims only in their individual capacity and not as part of any class, representative, collective or consolidated proceeding.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in these Official Rules requires arbitration, waives a class action or limits any statutory right where such provision is prohibited or rendered unenforceable by applicable law. Any unenforceable provision shall be severed or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remainder shall remain in effect.
13. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THE SWEEPSTAKES AND THE GRAND PRIZE ARE PROVIDED 'AS IS' WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
14. GOVERNING LAW
The Sweepstakes is governed by Canadian law and is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and is void where prohibited by law. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of an Entrant, Winner, Guest, Sponsor or the Sweepstakes Entities in connection with this Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia without giving effect to the conflict of laws and rules thereof. The entering of any judgment on an arbitration award or any matters or proceedings which are not subject to arbitration as set forth in Section 12 of these Official Rules shall take place in the federal and/or provincial courts of the Province of British Columbia. Entrants agree not to raise the defense of forum non conveniens.
15. PRIVACY POLICY
Any personal information supplied by the Entrant to Sponsor will be governed by Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and subject to Sponsor's privacy policy posted at https://airnewzealand.ca/privacy-policy. By entering the Sweepstakes, the Entrant grants Sponsor permission to collect, use and share the Entrant's email address and any other personally identifiable information with the other Sweepstakes Entities for the purpose of the administration of the Sweepstakes and fulfillment of the Grand Prize, and the Entrant acknowledges that Entrant has read and accepted Sponsor's privacy policy.
16. WINNER'S LIST
To obtain the name of Winner and/or Official Rules, send a request along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to 222 N Pacific Coast Highway. Suite 1550, El Segundo, CA 90245. Requests must be received no later than sixty (60) days following the announcement of Winner. The name of Winner may be posted and included in the Winner's List, and the Official Rules will be posted at https://www.airnewzealand.ca/terms-conditions-tar.
