Frequent Flyer Status Boost terms and conditions

Last updated 1 August 2019
  1. Members who hold Gold or Elite Membership Tier Status will be awarded bonus Status Points when they take 10 Status Point earning Journeys on Air New Zealand Flights or Qualifying Partner Airline Flights ("Status Boost Journeys") between either:
    1. 1 August 2019, and the Member's next tier status review date or tier status upgrade (whichever occurs first); or
    2. the Member's most recent tier status review date (provided that date is after 1 August 2019), and their next tier status review date or tier status upgrade (whichever occurs first), ("Frequent Flyer Status Boost")
  2. Where a Member qualifies for the Frequent Flyer Status Boost, Air New Zealand will use its reasonable endeavours to credit the relevant Status Points to the Member's Account on the day that the 10th Status Boost Journey is completed.
  3. Where a Member upgrades from Gold to Elite Membership Tier Status, and at the date of upgrade has completed between 1 and 9 (inclusive) Status Boost Journeys within the timeframe required by clause 1 above, the Member shall be entitled to a pro rata Frequent Flyer Status Boost based on each Status Boost Journey taken within the required timeframe. For example, if at the time of upgrading from Gold to Elite Membership Tier Status, the Member has taken seven (7) Status Boost Journeys within the timeframe set out in clause 1 above, the Member shall be awarded 7/10ths of the Status Points which would have been awarded if the Member had fully qualified for the Frequent Flyer Status Boost. Members shall not be entitled to any pro rata Frequent Flyer Status Boost in any circumstances other than as set out in this clause 3.
  4. The count of Status Boost Journeys completed by a Member for the purposes of the Frequent Flyer Status Boost will be reset to zero on the date that a Member's new tier status year begins, or the date which an Airpoints Gold Member earns enough Status Points to upgrade to Elite Membership Tier Status (if applicable), whichever occurs first.
